Block deals worth over Rs 3,849 crore this week. Godrej Consumer, Avenue Supermarts among stocks that saw major action

As Nifty ended with a weak-on-weak rise of 0.8% on Friday, it was laden with top action where over three dozen companies from large, mid and smallcap segments witnessed prominent block deals worth Rs 3,849 crore on screen, which included both buying and selling action.

In the largecap segment, 11 companies witnessed significant block deals on the screen, which were worth Rs 1,844 crore, led by Godrej Consumer with 4 block counts totalling to Rs 466 crore. The next in line were Avenue Supermarts (Rs 353 crore), Jio Financial Services (Rs 309 crore), Axis Bank (Rs 158 crore), HDFC Bank (Rs 116 crore) and Hindustan Aeronautics (Rs 111 crore).

Others were, namely Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Zomato, LTI Mindtree, ICICI Bank and Varun Beverages with block deals between Rs 85 crore and Rs 51 crore.

The data has been compiled by brokerage firm Nuvama and pertains to deals done this week between 8:45 am and 3:30 pm.

In the midcap segment, total 10 companies witnessed prominent block deals on the screen which were worth Rs 1,279 crore. The leader in the pack was Muthoot Finance with the deal size amounting to Rs 281 crore followed by JSW Energy (Rs 247 crore), Bharat Forge (Rs 148 crore), Endurance Technologies (Rs 131 crore) and Oracle Financial Services Software (Rs 113 crore).

The others were AIA Engineering, Supreme Industries, Power Finance Corp, Lupin and Fortis Healthcare which saw deals between Rs 91 crore and 53 crore.

As for the smallcap stocks, block deals worth Rs 726 crore were struck in 10 companies. The number one spot went to Dr Lal Pathlabs (Rs 158 crore) followed by ITI Ltd (Rs 113 crore) and VIP Industries (Rs 81 crore). The others were Multi Commodity Exchange Of India, NIIT Learning Systems, Varroc Engineering, Suzlon Energy, KEI Industries, J.B. Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals and Dilip Buildcon which saw deals between Rs 63 crore and 46 crore.

Nuvama also reported prominent bulk, block and insider deals in 16 stocks with details of buyers and sellers. Among them were Easy Trip Planners, where promoter Nishant Pitti offloaded shares worth Rs 78 crore, while Arunaben Sanjaykumar and Jainam Broking bought shares worth Rs 38 core and Rs 1 crore, respectively. Meanwhile, Vq Fastercap Fund bought Unimech Aerospace shares worth Rs 70 crore via block deal.

Responsive Industries, Gujarat Toolroom, Senores Pharmaceuticals, Kabra Extrusion, Vl E-Governance, Ok Play India, Manoj Ceramic, Mos Utility, AGS Transact Technologies, Waaree Technologies, Mamata Machinery, Prozone Realty, Vipul Ltd and Sudarshan Pharma Industries were others which saw prominent bulk, block and insider deals with details of buyers and sellers.
